the vCenter service username specified doesnot have the Log on as a service privilege

  Error: the vCenter service username specified does not have the Log on as a service privilege Solution: Go to Local security policy and enable "log on as a service " permission. 1.Logon to the computer with administrative privileges. 2.Open the ‘Administrative Tools’ and open the ‘Local Security Policy’ 3.Expand ‘Local Policy’ and click on ‘User Rights Assignment’ 4.In the right pane, right-click ‘Log on as a service’ and select properties. 5.Click on the ‘Add User or Group…’ button to add the new user. 6.In the ‘Select Users or Groups’ dialogue, find the user you wish to enter and click ‘OK’ 7.Click ‘OK’ in the ‘Log on as a service Properties’ to save changes.

How to Change Vcenter server hostname easily

  To change hostname: login via ssh root to vCenter server then run below command: root@vcsa70u2 [ ~ ]# /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net  Main Menu 0)      Show Current Configuration (scroll with Shift-PgUp/PgDown) 1)      Exit this program 2)      Default Gateway 3)      Hostname 4)      DNS 5)      Proxy Server 6)      IP Address Allocation for eth0 Enter a menu number [0]: 3 Warning: if any of the interfaces for this VM use DHCP, the Hostname, DNS, and Gateway parameters will be overwritten by information from the DHCP server.
